Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Staff Analytics Engineer in Finance Analytics to lead the financial data layer, collaborating with Accounting, Controllership and FP&A. You will define architecture for source-of-truth datasets in Snowflake/Databricks and ensure accuracy and traceability of the books.

You will design scalable pipelines with Airflow/dbt, establish data quality frameworks, and mentor Analytics Engineers while partnering with upstream teams on data contracts and finance data delivery.

Qualifications

• Accounting or finance background or hands-on with FP&A teams.
• Expert SQL and strong Python with reusable frameworks.
• Deep data modeling using star/snowflake schemas.
• Production ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt, Airflow, or similar.
• Experience with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake/Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for Coinbase's financial data layer.
• Partner with Accounting and FP&A to support month-end close.
• Make data pipelines audit-ready with SOX controls and lineage.
• Design curated financial datasets in Snowflake/Databricks.
• Build scalable batch and near-real-time pipelines with Airflow/dbt.
• Drive data contracts and mentor Analytics Engineers.
