Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Finance Analytics Engineer to help build and govern the company’s financial data and reporting foundations. You will partner with Accounting and FP&A to support close processes and create auditable, source-of-truth datasets in Snowflake/Databricks.

You will design scalable pipelines with dbt and Airflow, implement data quality and reconciliation frameworks, and mentor analytics engineers while aligning with the leadership on data contracts and governance.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting exposure or CPA/CMA preferred.
• Expert SQL with window functions and advanced aggregations.
• Strong Python (OOP) and data-modeling skills.
• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines with dbt and Airflow.
• Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery/Redshift).
• Staff-level experience leading multi-quarter initiatives and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Accounting and FP&A to support month-end and quarter-end close, building datasets, reconciliations and reporting.
• Make financial data and pipelines audit-ready: SOX-compliant controls, lineage, change management and evidence for auditors.
• Design and own architecture of curated source-of-truth datasets in Snowflake/Databricks tied to the general ledger.
• Build and own scalable batch and near-real-time pipelines orchestrated with Airflow/dbt.
• Define reusable data quality and reconciliation frameworks and SLAs with Accounting.
• Drive data contracts with upstream engineering teams and mentor Analytics Engineers.
