Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, is seeking a Staff Equipment Development Engineer to drive FAOK wafer and die equipment development within the Advanced Technology Packaging Development team.

You will shepherd concepts from design through deployment, coordinating with process development, manufacturing, and vendors to ensure robust, scalable solutions. You will apply DOE, FMEA and data analysis to identify failure modes, optimize equipment maturity, and lead cost-reduction initiatives

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or equivalent in technical field (Materials Science, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics)
• 2+ years of semiconductor process or equipment engineering experience
• Fundamental understanding of post probe and assembly process/equipment interactions
• Experience with DOE, SPC, defects analysis and data analysis
• Ability to resolve complex issues via root-cause or model-based problem solving
• Hands-on experience with wafer/assembly tools and overlay systems

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies to improve Equipment maturity for FOAK hardware
• Develop hardware roadmaps for 5+ years in post probe wafer/die processing
• Optimize equipment to reduce cost, increase availability and performance
• Collaborate with process development teams on innovative solutions
• Conduct root cause and failure mode analysis and drive projects with OEMs/vendors
• Perform fundamental research to drive next-gen equipment products
• Support equipment transfers to production facilities (domestic/international travel)
