Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of core applications. You will bridge backend data systems, emerging AI capabilities, and intuitive frontend experiences while delivering scalable dashboards and resilient microservices.

This hands-on technical leader will champion DevOps and embed AI-driven features, guiding technical strategy, mentoring teams, and ensuring operational excellence across the stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full‑stack development, architecture, and scalable apps.
• Mastery of modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and experience with data visualization libraries.
• Deep expertise in server-side languages and scalable microservices architectures.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and integrating high-volume data feeds.
• Hands-on AI model/API integration and familiarity with AI orchestration.
• Public cloud proficiency (AWS/Azure/GCP) and strong CI/CD, containerization, and IaC skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly to teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, architecture, and development of scalable web applications from frontend to backend services.
• Architect and implement rich dashboards and visualizations surface complex data insights.
• Design secure, scalable APIs and data integration layers with various data objects and third-party platforms.
• Champion AI/ML integration into core products to automate workflows and insights.
• Drive DevOps and cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and IaC for reliable releases.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and performance standards; lead root-cause analysis for production issues.
• Mentor frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers; set coding standards and drive reusable patterns.
• Handle ambiguous requirements by engaging stakeholders and turning them into concrete plans.
