Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead architecture, development, and scaling of core applications. You will bridge backend data systems, AI capabilities, and frontend experiences while delivering rich dashboards and reliable microservices.

You will guide technical strategy, mentor teams, and embed AI-driven features to automate workflows. A strong emphasis on DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and operational excellence defines this role.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in full-stack development and architecture.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and data visualization libraries.
• Backend & API design expertise with scalable microservices.
• Relational and NoSQL databases and ORMs.
• Hands-on AI model and API integration (OpenAI, Anthropic) with LangChain.
• Public cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with CI/CD, containers, and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Full Stack Development: lead end-to-end design and development of scalable web apps.
• Dashboarding & Data Visualization: build rich dashboards surface insights.
• Backend & Data Integrations: create secure APIs and integrate diverse data sources.
• AI Enablement & Implementation: embed AI features to automate workflows and insights.
• DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure: drive CI/CD, containerized deployments, and IaC.
• Operational Excellence: monitor, log, and profile performance; root-cause analysis.
• Technical Leadership & Mentoring: guide frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers; shape technical roadmap.
• Self Starter: navigate ambiguity and engage stakeholders to define solutions.
