Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is seeking a Staff Engineer, Sustaining Electrical to own and advance the electrical systems for our HVAC product lines in Fort Worth, TX.

You will lead sustaining engineering, maintain schematics and BOMs, drive design improvements and cost reductions, ensure NEC/UL/CSA compliance, and collaborate with suppliers and technicians. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical engineering experience in a product or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, power distribution, motors, contactors and protection.
• Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Working knowledge of NEC, UL, CSA electrical codes and agency standards.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, design validation and change control.
• Experience with variable-frequency drives (VFDs) and high-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Owns sustaining engineering for product electrical systems, power distribution and wiring.
• Investigates and resolves field and production electrical issues through root-cause analysis.
• Develops electrical design improvements, cost reductions and component-obsolescence solutions.
• Maintains electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs and change control (ECN/ECO).
• Supports agency certification and compliance activities (UL, CSA, NEC).
• Supports production troubleshooting, test-stand development and validation.
• Partners with suppliers on electrical components and qualification.
• Provides technical guidance to technicians and less-experienced engineers.
• Travel up to 10%.
