Northrop Grumman seeks a Staff Engineer Subsystems Aeronautical Design to join our team in multiple locations, including San Diego, CA. You will lead hydraulic and electrical subsystem development from concept to sustainment, shaping architecture, testing, and verification.

You will guide a multidisciplinary team, author technical briefs for senior leadership, and collaborate with suppliers to ensure airworthiness and mission readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in STEM or higher with 12 years of aerospace design experience, or MS with 10 years, or PhD with 8 years.
• Proven cradle-to-grave system development experience.
• Experience leading a 10+ member engineering team.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to brief executives.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Secret clearance and SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic and electrical schematics and select components.
• Lead system engineering activities including trade studies and architecture definition.
• Develop and execute system-level test plans and verification.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and act as technical POC for suppliers.
• Prepare presentations for senior leadership.
