Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Subsystems Aeronautical Design to lead aircraft subsystem development from concept through sustainment. The role requires SME-level guidance for a multidisciplinary team and collaboration with suppliers.
You will present to senior leadership and own system-level design decisions. Located in multiple sites (Palmdale, OK, San Diego, Whiteman AFB) with eligibility for Secret clearance and potential relocation assistance.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in STEM with 12+ years aerospace structural design experience.
- MS in STEM with 10+ years related experience.
- PhD in STEM with 8+ years related experience.
- Experience leading a system’s development cradle-to-grave.
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or serve as SME on aircraft subsystem development and integration.
- Guide projects from concept to sustainment; ensure technical excellence.
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings to senior leadership (director level and above).
- Lead trade studies, layout development, and architecture definition; interface with suppliers.
- Develop system-level test plans and verification activities; manage issue resolution.
