Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Aeronautical Engineer or Principal Aeronautical Engineer - Subsystems to join the Vehicle Engineering organization in Palmdale, CA or San Diego, CA.

This role involves developing aircraft subsystem designs across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic domains and collaborating across engineering teams to ensure airworthiness and system integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in STEM with 2 years of related experience OR a Masters Degree in STEM with 0 years related experience.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with a track record of complex problem solving
• Experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance within a reasonable time
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical wiring designs of a functional system including conductors and electro-mechanical components.
• Support design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems.
• Responsible for all aspects of system/component design and development including trade studies and system test.
• May participate on subcontractor teams and act as technical contact with suppliers.
• System level test planning, execution support, verification and troubleshooting.
• System level evaluations to verify requirements and airworthiness criteria are met.
• Create hydraulic and electrical schematics for functional systems.
