Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build the data fabric backbone, enabling automated metadata ingestion, API and connector integrations, and policy enforcement for governance rules across hybrid cloud, on‑premises, and edge environments.

The role collaborates with the Principal Data Architect and Sr Principal Technical Product Manager to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost by making data flow auditable and enforcement provable in a defense context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
• Military experience equivalent to professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for data sources and data-product delivery.
• Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products moving through the lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Sr Staff Data Engineer on schema-translation pipelines.
• Wire the policy enforcement engine to operationalize governance rules.
• Implement policy-as-code and attribute-based access control.
