GE Aerospace in the United States seeks a Staff Data Engineer to build the technical backbone of the Defense & Systems Data Fabric, including automated metadata ingestion, API and connector integrations, and policy enforcement for governance rules.

The role collaborates with the Principal Data Architect and Sr Principal Technical Product Manager to ensure secure, provable data access across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge environments with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of professional experience, or equivalent education.
• Minimum 3 years in Data Pipeline Engineering or IT.
• Military experience is equivalent to professional experience.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery.
• Implement policy-as-code and attribute-based access control, collaborating with architects.
• Onboard and manage the technical operations of data products, including monitoring and SLA adherence.
• Conform to architecture standards and contribute to onboarding data products.
