Job summary

GE Aerospace seeks a Staff Data Engineer to build the hands-on backbone of the Defense & Systems Data Fabric, enabling automated metadata ingestion, API and connector integrations, and policy enforcement that turns governance rules into enforceable behavior across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.

You will collaborate with a lean team to ensure secure access, reliability, and documentation while aligning with architecture standards and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years of professional experience, or Associates with 7+ years, or HS diploma with 9+ years.
• Minimum 3 years in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
• Military experience counts as professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and for data-product delivery.
• Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products moving through the lifecycle.
• Support schema-translation pipeline builds in partnership with the Sr Staff Data Engineer.
• Onboard and manage data products' operations and ensure pipeline reliability.
