Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to build the hands-on backbone of the Defense & Systems Data Fabric, enabling automated metadata ingestion, API and connector integrations, and policy enforcement that turns governance rules into enforceable behavior across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge environments.

You will work with the Principal Data Architect and Sr Principal Technical Product Manager to onboard data products, maintain pipelines, and ensure reliability, security, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with professional experience in data pipelines and systems integration.
• Military experience counts as experience.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
• Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery.
• Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products through their lifecycle.
• Support schema-translation pipeline builds with the Sr Staff Data Engineer.
• Wire the policy enforcement engine and implement policy-as-code with access control.
• Partner with IAM and export compliance architects to validate enforcement logic.
• Onboard and manage technical operations of data products, including monitoring and pipeline reliability.
• Maintain technical documentation for federated teams.
• Support certification and onboarding SLAs with timely technical assessment.
