As a Staff Software Engineer on the Order Platform team, you’ll shape systems powering orders, captures, refunds and settlement, and drive technical strategy for reliable, scalable post-checkout services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Strong experience with Python or Kotlin and building reliable distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS, MySQL, Spark and Kubernetes.
• Ability to design services with clear API boundaries, reliability and proper handling of failures, especially in payments/commerce domains.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy for your team on a year-long time scale and align it with key projects.
• Collaborate with product management, design and analytics to ensure technical sustainability and clear trade-offs.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating technical solutions and operational processes.
• Own your team’s operations and availability with monitoring, on-call rotations and playbooks.
• Set code review and design standards and promote them beyond your team through writing and talks.
• Mentor engineers and lead by example to develop talent.
