Job summary
Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Core Automation team in the Platform group to architect and build Agentic AI systems that transform operations. You will design orchestration, guardrails, and measurement frameworks to deliver scalable, low-hallucination automation powering customer support and compliance processes.
You will mentor engineers, set technical direction for distributed systems, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable AI-driven experiences
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems.
- Experience shipping production AI/ML applications.
- Proven experience with LLM-based applications and grounding, guardrails, and reducing hallucinations.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build Agentic AI systems powering Coinbase's automation.
- Design APIs and measurement frameworks to ground AI agents and minimize hallucination.
- Lead architecture decisions for distributed, scalable AI automation.
- Develop reusable primitives and orchestration solutions across domains.
- Mentor engineers on AI design, standards, and production readiness.
