Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Core Automation team. You will architect and build Agentic AI systems that transform how Coinbase operates, from intelligent agents to orchestration and guardrails.

You’ll own the technical direction for production AI systems and scale automation across the company. You’ll mentor engineers, shape APIs, and create measurement frameworks to ensure reliable performance with minimal hallucination.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience shipping production AI/ML systems.
• Experience with LLM-based applications, grounding, hallucination reduction, guardrails for reliability.
• Deep expertise designing APIs and orchestration for agentic AI at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build Agentic AI systems powering compliance automation and operations.
• Design foundational APIs and measurement frameworks to grounded, relevant AI agents.
• Lead architectural patterns and roadmaps for AI automation across domains.
