Sbjames seeks a Staff Accountant in Medford, OR to support daily accounting ops, focusing on weekly payroll processing and assisting with accounts payable, credit card postings, and reconciliations.

Ideal candidate will handle audits, renewals, and wage compliance while maintaining GAAP standards, and collaborate with HR and vendors. This role requires accuracy, deadlines, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 2+ years of accounting experience, or 4+ years in lieu of degree.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and month-end close process.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process weekly payroll.
• Prepare and submit weekly certified payroll reports for public works and prevailing wage projects in compliance with Davis-Bacon and state requirements.
• Verify employee classifications, hours, wage rates, and fringe benefits against project wage determinations.
• Submit payments for retirement contributions, garnishments, and other payroll payments.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Assist HR with confidential payroll and financial information.
