Job summary

Umpqua Health Management LLC is seeking a Staff Accountant for a remote role based in Oregon. The position supports general ledger, month-end close, budget variance analysis, and internal control improvements with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include financial reporting, audits, and collaboration with controllers, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to policies. Requires 3+ years in accounting and a 4-year degree.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• 4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, accounting policies, practices and systems.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.
• No suspension/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid).

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting activities, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements and record financial transactions accurately.
• Back up accounts payable processing in the absence of the Accounting Specialist.
• Back up payroll processing in the absence of the Payroll Specialist.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and financial statements.
