Job summary

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, supporting hospitals and health systems nationwide with diagnostic imaging and patient care near home. The Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting assists in monthly/quarterly close, prepares financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accurate, timely reporting.

The role emphasizes audit readiness, internal reporting, and collaboration with Accounting Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness; investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting entries.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in the annual financial audits.
