Job summary

Akumin, a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, is seeking a Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting to support monthly and quarterly close processes and financial statement preparation. You will prepare statements, footnotes, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 2–3 years of related experience, CPA licensure, and strong Excel skills for analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to perform analyses using Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, management discussion and analysis and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepares journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review assigned general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness, investigate questionable transactions, form reasonable conclusions, make recommendations to Accounting Management and prepare correcting journal entries as appropriate. Prepares monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Identifies, researches, and corrects account discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting
• Assists in the annual financial audits.
