Job summary

CVS Health Corporation in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Digital Development Engineer II to enhance reliability, resilience, and performance of critical applications and infrastructure. You will establish SLIs/SLOs, monitoring and alerting, and contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis and MTTR improvements.

Join a team shaping scalable, cloud-native solutions using Java/Spring Boot or Node.js/TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes, and modern observability tools.

Qualifications

5+ years experience in software engineering & backend development.
Experience with Java/Spring Boot and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
Experience with AWS and cloud-native technologies.
Experience with Kubernetes / containerized environments.
Experience with REST APIs & microservices.
CI/CD and deployment automation.
New Relic or similar observability/APM technology.
Splunk / centralized logging.
Distributed-system troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Develop automation to reduce manual operational work and improve reliability.
Create and maintain operational standards, procedures, and runbooks.
Analyze major releases and production changes for potential availability and reliability risks.
Identify application dependencies and potential failure points across distributed systems.
Develop and implement resiliency and testing strategies for applications and infrastructure.
Partner with application, platform, infrastructure, and business teams to drive reliability improvements.
Contribute to CI/CD and automation workflows that enable reliable software delivery.
Help drive SRE principles and reliability practices across engineering teams.
