This remote role is US-based; compensation ranges from $131,000 to $218,300 annually, with on-call rotation and opportunities to influence technical direction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software development, with emphasis on API and backend design.
• 5+ years of professional experience in TypeScript/Node.js and Python.
• Proven experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technology; relational DB design incl. PostgreSQL; IaC with Terraform.

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will focus on designing and maintaining scalable backend systems that support integration-heavy product experiences in a highly regulated environment. You will work across APIs, event-driven services, databases, and deployment tooling to help improve reliability, continuity, and engineering velocity. The position also involves close collaboration with technical peers on design decisions, production support, and operational excellence.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $131,000 – $218,300 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable APIs for dynamic product integrations
• Develop backend services using TypeScript, Node.js, and Python

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Kafka or comparable event-streaming technology
• Skilled in relational database design, particularly with PostgreSQL, and capable of implementing infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD processes, specifically using GitHub Actions
• Hands-on experience resolving production system issues and participating in technical design discussions
