Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale backend systems for institutional settlements and transfers. Remote—US-based candidates only—with a compensation range of $207,955–$218,900 annually.

You will partner with product and engineering leadership to shape technical direction and raise code quality across critical services. Responsibilities include owning backend design, driving performance, and mentoring engineers, while collaborating on roadmaps and architecture

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with production services at scale.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar backend language and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Kafka messaging systems.
• Strong ability to lead system design decisions and technical proposals.
• Proven track record resolving quality and performance issues in distributed systems.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Settlements & Transfers) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will focus on building and scaling backend systems that support institutional settlement and transfer workflows. You will partner closely with product and engineering leadership to shape technical direction, improve reliability, and keep critical services performing at scale. The position calls for strong system design judgment, hands‑on execution, and a collaborative approach to mentoring engineers and raising the bar for code quality. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $207,955 – $218,900 annually
