Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Financing) to join our finance technology team. You will own backend design and delivery for financing products in a high‑reliability environment, from architecture through production launch.

Based remote in the US, you will build scalable services, collaborate with Product, Risk, and Operations, mentor engineers, and raise engineering standards with better tooling and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in high‑reliability financial workloads.
• Experience designing and scaling service-oriented architectures.
• Proficiency with Go, Java, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data integrity, and availability.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead design reviews.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Institutional, Financing) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on building and scaling backend systems that support financing products and related risk functionality in a high-reliability environment. You will own technical delivery from architecture through production launch, partnering closely with Product, Risk, and Operations to translate business needs into durable solutions. The position calls for strong service-oriented design, distributed systems expertise, and a deep commitment to correctness, availability, and data integrity. You will also help raise engineering standards through mentorship, technical reviews, and improvements to developer productivity and operational resilience.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $207,955 – $218,900 annually

Responsibilities
