Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Platform Core) to design and operate core backend platform services powering high-volume customer interactions. The role focuses on reliability, scalability, and performance across shared systems.

You will own work across the full lifecycle—from problem identification and design to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support—collaborating with Product, SRE, and engineering teams to deliver platform improvements.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience building backend services and APIs in production.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native development using AWS and/or GCP.
• Strong production ownership experience, including deployment and troubleshooting of high-scale services.
• In-depth knowledge of data and messaging technologies such as PostgreSQL, Aurora, Redis, and RabbitMQ.

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Platform Core) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will focus on building and operating core backend platform services that power high-volume customer interactions. You will own work across the full lifecycle, from identifying problems and designing solutions through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support. The position partners closely with Product, SRE, and engineering teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance across shared systems. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available. Compensation: $130,000 – $170,000 annually.
