Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineer for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You’ll develop physics-based modeling solutions in the EO/IR/RF domain, enabling engineers to understand energy transport and test AI hardware concepts while collaborating across teams.

You will create modular C++ models, apply advanced EO/RF philosophies, and mentor peers. Candidates must have a STEM degree with extensive experience and the ability to obtain an interim

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field with 10+ years of experience
• Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++/C and evaluating data with MATLAB or Python
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, Apple OS, or Windows command line
• Experience in electro-optics, radar processing, EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, or signal processing
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required

Responsibilities

• Champion novel modeling solutions and develop new C++ models
• Deploy EO/RF phenomenology in software implementations
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling tools
• Work across programming languages and build environments on a DoD Space project
• Research and develop advanced EO/RF modeling techniques
• Coordinate with multiple teams to solve complex software and physics problems
• Mentor teammates and share EO/RF expertise
