The Chemours Washington Works facility in Parkersburg, WV is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical to join the Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Organization. The role focuses on fixed and rotating equipment issues, supports root cause analyses, and leads improvement projects up to $500,000.

Requires ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree and 5+ years’ experience, with strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; willingness to wear PPE as required on site.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• 5 years of Engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic mechanical engineering principles.
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems using data-based decisions.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; strong written and oral communication.
• Willingness to wear PPE such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators.

This is a highly visible, key role within the Company and the Washington Works Team. This position will report to the Maintenance Engineering Manager.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:This role serves as a Mechanical Engineer for the Chemours Central Maintenance Engineering Organization and will be assigned to one of the Production Units at the Washington Works plant in Parkersburg, WV. Mechanical Maintenance Engineers address short-term fixed and rotating equipment issues in a timely manner to keep the plant running. They also design and implement improvement projects up to $500,000.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:Support high quality, efficient field execution of mechanical Maintenance workDevelop Job Plans, Procedures and Execution StandardsLead troubleshooting and supports Root Cause Analysis for larger eventsPossesses deep practical knowledge of fixed and rotating equipment and repairsCollaborate with Mechanics, Operations and other engineersImproves work execution and standardizationImplements smaller Change of Designs (CODs) in the plantQUALIFICATIONS:In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university5 years of Engineering experienceDemonstrated knowledge of basic mechanical engineering principlesDemonstrated skill to diagnose and solve technical problems – making data-based decisions.Ability to work both independently and in a team environmentExcellent oral and written communication skills.Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.Strong interpersonal skills and a “hands on” approach.Troubleshooting experienceThe following skill sets are preferred by the business unit :8 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentRoot Cause Analysis experienceExperience specifying and repairing fixed and rotating equipmentIn our pursuit to be the greatest place to work, we know that a critical element to enhancing our employee experience is to assure we’re operating with a solid foundation of trust.
