Job summary

Chemours is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join the Manufacturing Technology team at the Washington Works site in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The role provides process engineering support for Monomer production, collaboration with operations, maintenance, and other engineering disciplines to improve process performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum 6 months of Chemical Engineering-related experience.
  • Experience with chemical processing methodologies, process troubleshooting, and structured problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor chemical process performance and troubleshoot/resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Partner with plant operators, maintenance personnel, and engineering teams to improve process performance, reliability, capacity, efficiency, and uptime.
  • Develop and implement chemical process improvements including changes to process conditions, piping, valves, controls, and operating procedures.
  • Support the design and execution of process engineering projects, including small capital projects, equipment installations, and plant upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs and block flow diagrams.
  • Support commissioning, startups, shutdowns, turnarounds, and equipment restoration activities as needed.
  • Support process experiments, testing, and data collection to evaluate and improve manufacturing operations.
