Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Sr. IT Support Technician for a 12-month contract onsite. The role supports desktop, network, and AV systems, with a focus on end-user computing and incident resolution.

This position operates 8 AM–5 PM or 9 AM–6 PM, with potential after-hours for events. The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in IT and at least 4 years of relevant experience, plus hands-on work with Active Directory and MFA (Duo).

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or vocational/technical degree in Information Technology required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 desktop support for Microsoft and Mac environments.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues including Wi-Fi.
  • Manage user accounts in Active Directory incl. password resets, group policy, MFA (Duo).
  • Support Crestron-based AV systems and on-site connectivity issues.
  • Serve as primary contact via phone, web conferencing, live chat, and on-site.
  • Maintain knowledge of IT processes and track service requests in the ticketing system.
  • Manage on-site network printers and multifunction devices.
  • Escalate complex problems with other IT teams as needed.
  • Coordinate asset management and equipment lifecycle upgrades.

Sr. IT Support Technician

Role Overview

This position serves as the primary contact for providing technical assistance and managing technology resources. The role involves resolving on-site technical support requests and collaborating with IT Department personnel for guidance on more complex network and system-related problems. This includes maintaining the end-user computing environment by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading computer devices, networking equipment, and other associated technology resources to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 desktop support for both Microsoft and Mac environments.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, and perform basic network troubleshooting.
  • Manage user account access, including Active Directory password resets, group policy, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) with Duo.
  • Support audiovisual (AV) equipment, such as projectors and flat screens with Crestron-based control systems, focusing on connectivity and user-related issues.
  • Serve as a primary technical support contact through various methods including phone, web conferencing, live chat, and on-site assistance.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current technology processes and track service requests within the IT Service Management ticketing system.
  • Manage and support on-site network printers and multifunction devices.
  • Collaborate on or escalate complex problems for resolution with other IT teams.
  • Coordinate with leadership on asset management, including inventory tracking, vendor repairs, and equipment lifecycle upgrades.
Required Qualifications

Education: An Associate degree or a vocational/technical degree in Information Technology is required. Combinations of education and work experience will be considered.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related field is necessary.

Technical Skills
  • Experience with Tier 1 desktop support.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting network topology and connectivity.
  • Knowledge of account access management in Active Directory and MFA systems like Duo.
  • Familiarity with both Microsoft and Mac operating systems.
  • Experience with AV systems, including Crestron controls.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology is preferred.
  • Certifications related to end-user computing support such as Microsoft, A+, Apple, or Avixa-CTS are desirable.
Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite with expected hours of 8 AM to 5 PM or 9 AM to 6 PM. Occasional work after 5 PM or on weekends may be required for events.
