• Perform monthly AR reconciliations and document variances
• Support month-end and quarter-end close; post AR, revenue, and cash journals
• Assist revenue recognition controls and system improvements
• Serve as primary contact for internal/external AR audits
• Prepare ad hoc reports and mentor junior staff

Job Title: Senior Accountant - Accounts Receivable

Location: Aliso Viejo, CA (Fully On-site)

Employment Type: Temporary-to-hire, 1 year

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Compensation: $38.94 - $48.65 per hour

Job Summary

• Lead the end-to-end AR process, including invoicing, collections, cash application, reconciliations, credit limit reviews, customer setup, and AR aging analysis
• Partner with Sales, Commercial, Customer Service, and other stakeholders to resolve complex AR and revenue issues
• Perform and review monthly AR reconciliations; investigate and document variances
• Support month-end and quarter-end close; prepare, review, and post AR, revenue, and cash journal entries
• Support revenue recognition compliance, internal controls, and AR system enhancements and process improvements
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external audit requests related to AR and revenue
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses, and mentor less experienced team members

Requirements

• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant AR and revenue accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including complex journal entries and account reconciliations
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables) and strong Microsoft Office proficiency
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with high attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders and handle confidential information with discretion
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
