Job summary

Infosys Limited, a global technology leader, is seeking an Infrastructure Consultant 2 to join our Cloud unit in a role focused on MS SQL Server administration, optimization, and automation. This position requires PST hours and rotating shifts to support 24/7 operations.

You will install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances, implement clustering and Always On, perform capacity planning, and coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to deliver resilient infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Available to work exclusively for PST time zone and rotating shift schedules to ensure 24/7/365 support coverage.
• Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Server Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
• Perform capacity planning based on database growth patterns.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server clustering environments; monitor and maintain database systems, address issues, and perform performance tuning.
• Perform database upgrades to different SQL Server versions and handle database migrations.
• Use tools such as SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, and Execution Plans for database tuning and index recommendations; generate traces and execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks, and contention, and resolve them.
• Develop and implement solutions for database backup, restoration, and replication.
• Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, document findings with preventive recommendations.
• Prepare actionable assessment reports and support due diligence to document infrastructure maturity and improvement opportunities.
• Design scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions and develop technical documentation for deployed systems.
• Align release schedules and environment readiness; execute deployments per protocols and perform post-deployment testing.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules, emergency fixes, and technology upgrades for uninterrupted integration.
• Analyze performance data and coordinate insights on system behavior to optimize performance.
• Conduct security checks, recovery drills, and compliance audits; implement security measures and continuity plans.
• Identify automation opportunities and propose efficiency enhancements for infrastructure processes.
• Act as liaison with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams to document project requirements.
• Develop a centralized repository of technical knowledge leveraging insights from projects.
