Job summary

Phaxis is seeking a SQL Server-focused professional to install, configure, and maintain SQL Server across multi-environment deployments in Charlotte, NC. You will ensure high availability using FCIs and Always On, manage backups and DR planning, and monitor performance to prevent outages.

You will collaborate with VMware and Windows Server teams to optimize VM sizing and storage configurations, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and document standards and procedures for ongoing operations.

Qualifications

Proficient in installing, configuring, upgrading, patching and maintaining SQL Server across environments.
Experience with high availability solutions like FCIs and Always On Availability Groups.
Solid backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning and testing.
Proactive monitoring of SQL Server health, performance and capacity.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022 across environments.
Administer and support FCIs and Always On Availability Groups for max uptime.
Perform backup, recovery, restore, and DR planning with routine tests.
Monitor health, performance, capacity, and availability using tools.
Collaborate with VMware and Windows/Storage teams to optimize VM sizing and storage.
Troubleshoot performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and tuning queries.
Develop, document SQL Server standards, maintenance plans, security configurations, and procedures.
