Job summary

Infosys is seeking an Infrastructure Consultant 2 in the United States to support cloud-based IT infrastructure, deliver scalable designs, and coordinate global teams. The role requires MS SQL Server experience, clustering and Always On, and strong incident management.

The position offers PST-hours coverage with rotating shifts, a focus on automation, and collaboration across onsite and offshore teams. Infosys values continuous learning and growth within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Available to work PST time zone with rotating shift schedules to provide 24/7/365 support.
• Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL Server Clustering and Always On Availability Groups.
• Perform capacity planning based on database growth patterns.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server clustering environments; monitor and maintain database systems, address issues, and perform performance tuning.
• Perform database upgrades to different SQL Server versions and handle database migrations.
• Use tools such as SQL Profiler, Database Tuning Advisor, and Execution Plans for database tuning and index recommendations; generate traces and execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks, and contention, and resolve them.
• Develop and implement solutions for database backup, restoration, and replication.
• Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Azure Data Factory (ADF).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and client teams to resolve complex incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and document findings with preventive recommendations.
• Evaluate client IT infrastructure, prepare actionable assessment reports, and support due diligence to document infrastructure maturity and improvement opportunities.
• Design scalable, cost-effective IT infrastructure solutions, review reusable components, and develop technical documentation for deployed systems.
• Align release schedules and environment readiness, execute deployments as per protocols, perform post-deployment testing, and manage version control to track changes.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules, emergency fixes, and technology upgrades while ensuring uninterrupted integration into existing systems and processes.
• Facilitate performance data analysis across systems, coordinate insights on system behavior, and support capacity planning to optimize performance.
• Conduct security checks, recovery drills, and compliance audits, implement security measures, and coordinate continuity plans to maintain adherence to standards.
• Gather feedback to identify automation opportunities, analyze existing infrastructure processes, and propose enhancements for efficiency gains.
• Act as liaison with onsite, offshore, and vendor teams to document project requirements, ensuring effective collaboration.
• Develop a centralized repository of technical and procedural knowledge, leveraging insights from other projects to drive efficiency and retain organizational expertise.
