Job summary

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom seeks an experienced SQL Server Administrator in Detroit to oversee high-transaction OLTP and OLAP environments. You will design and implement HA/DR strategies, optimize storage and indexing, and support SSIS ETL pipelines while enforcing security and policy compliance.

Advanced skills in PowerShell and T-SQL are required, with familiarity in dbatools to streamline administration.

Qualifications

• Core Experience: 7+ years administering Microsoft SQL Server (2014 through 2022) in high-transaction OLTP and data warehousing OLAP environments.
• Scripting & Automation: Advanced proficiency in PowerShell, T-SQL programming, and administrative modules like dbatools.
• Under-the-Hood Knowledge: Deep understanding of relational engine, storage engine, memory allocation (Buffer Pool), and tempdb architecture.

Responsibilities

• High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups, FCI, and log shipping across multi-site data centers.
• Query Store & Performance Tuning: Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocking, and high CPU issues using Query Store, Extended Events, and execution plan analysis.
• Storage & Index Optimization: Manage database file configurations, filegroups, and index fragmentation strategies on enterprise storage arrays.
• Hybrid Cloud Integration: Migrate and sync on-premises SQL Server workloads to Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
• ETL & Reporting Support: Monitor and troubleshoot SSIS packages and maintain instance-level security policies via Active Directory integration.
