Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to design, implement, and manage complex on-premises and Azure SQL environments.

The role emphasizes high availability, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and advanced query optimization. You will work with a DBA team to support all lines of business, manage Always-On Availability Groups, WSFC, and cloud data services including Azure Synapse, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or IT.
• 8+ years experience with MS SQL Server, Azure, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Experience with Always-On Availability Groups for HA/DR.
• Proficiency in backup/recovery, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize indexes.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure SQL Server instances in a cluster environment.
• Manage Always-On AG for databases across datacenters.
• Troubleshoot WSFC, failover modes, and read-only replicas.
• Monitor and maintain housekeeping and optimization jobs.
• Develop in T-SQL and PowerShell; collaborate with developers and admins.
• Manage schemas, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers.
• Monitor replication, backups, restore, security, and access.
• Provide SQL solutions for On-Prem and Azure including PostgreSQL.
• Ensure security and DR requirements are met and audit readiness.
• Own strategy around data warehouse, capacity planning, architecture.
• Monitor/query performance in Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Other duties as assigned.
