Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a Spring Heavy Civil Engineering Intern for the 2027 program in the Austin/San Antonio, Texas area. This paid internship provides real-world, on-site experience on multi-million-dollar heavy civil projects, under seasoned professionals.

As a Project Intern, you will support submittals, RFIs, scheduling, and field operations while learning project planning, safety, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Target graduation Aug 2027–Dec 2028.
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to commute onsite to assigned location; valid driver’s license.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Process submittals by reviewing, stamping, filing and distributing submittals.
• Send RFI’s to architects and engineers.
• Assist with project planning and scheduling, and maintaining logs.
• Participate in safety meetings and document minutes.
• Support coordination with trade contractors and look-ahead scheduling.
