Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, part of Austin Industries, seeks a 2027 Summer Heavy Civil Engineering Intern for the Austin/San Antonio area. You will gain hands-on experience on multi-million-dollar projects under seasoned professionals, reporting to project staff and engaging in real-world field operations.

The internship is paid for 12 weeks, running May 17 to August 6, 2027, with mentorship, site visits, and social/volunteer events.

Qualifications

• Active junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Target graduation between August 2027 and December 2028.
• Willing to work up to 40 hours per week and commute onsite.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with submittals, RFIs, and documentation for heavy civil projects.
• Support project engineers, supers, and managers across the project lifecycle.
• Engage in team meetings and on-site coordination to learn project planning and scheduling.
• Contribute to safety meetings and maintain project logs and look-ahead schedules.
