Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, a member of Austin Industries, seeks a Spring 2027 Heavy Civil Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience on large scale projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. You will work as a Project Intern under supervision, supporting engineering, planning and field teams on real projects.

Paid full-time internship with mentorship, team collaboration, and exposure to active construction sites.

Qualifications

Active junior or senior college student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
Target graduation date between August 2027 and December 2028.
Able to work up to 40 hours per week; hours vary by project schedule.
Must be able to commute onsite to assigned location and have a valid driver's license.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to present ideas professionally and work in project teams.

Responsibilities

Support submittal processing by reviewing, stamping, filing and distributing documents.
Assist with RFI transmission to architects and engineers.
Aid in updating drawings, specifications, shop drawings and samples.
Participate in safety meetings and help write meeting minutes.
Support project planning, scheduling and look-ahead activities.
