Job summary

Austin Industries invites rising juniors and seniors to join the 2027 Summer Heavy Civil Engineering Internship Program. This paid, 12-week internship runs May 17, 2027 to August 6, 2027, on projects in the Austin/San Antonio area, with hands-on site experience under seasoned professionals.

Interns gain mentorship, learn to read construction drawings, manage submittals and schedules, and participate in safety and team activities, with support for school paperwork.

Qualifications

• Active junior or senior college student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Targeted graduation date between August 2027 and December 2028.
• Able to work up to 40 hours per week and commute onsite to assigned location.

Responsibilities

• Assist with submittals, RFIs, and coordination with architects, engineers, and field teams.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and development of logs and look-ahead schedules.
• Participate in safety meetings and document meeting minutes.
