The role requires a Master’s degree, IL SLP licensure, and BLS certification within 30 days. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, and collaboration with other therapists to support patient goals.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology or related field.
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Illinois (IDFPR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Commitment to completing required continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Gather case history from patients and care teams; perform evaluations.
• Conduct speech and language pathology assessments with appropriate materials.
• Develop and implement measurable care plans with goals and collaboration.
• Interpret data to recommend interventions and treatment plans.
• Evaluate feeding/swallowing impairments and provide patient education.
• Coordinate with pediatric PT/OT on interventions and document daily in EMR.
