Job summary

Black Women's Mental Health Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to deliver one-on-one care to older adults in private homes and senior living communities. You will evaluate, plan therapies, and monitor progress, while educating patients and caregivers on safety and aging-in-place strategies.

Role involves telehealth/virtual care to improve access, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and ongoing education in a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure or eligibility to practice as an SLP.
• Degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program; CPR and ASHA CCC certification.
• Proficiency with EMR and basic computer skills.

Job description

Role: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) responsible for delivering one-on-one care to older adults in private homes and senior living communities.

• Perform evaluations, develop personalized care plans, and provide evidence-based therapy to support patient mobility, independence, and wellness.
• Document treatment progress using EMR systems, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and educate patients, caregivers, and staff on safety and aging-in-place strategies.
• Utilize telehealth and virtual care to enhance access and flexibility in treatment delivery.

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid state licensure or eligibility, degree from an accredited program, current CPR and ASHA CCC certification.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and EMR usage.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting, repositioning patients, and performing therapeutic activities.
