Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional to cover a leave on a temporary basis. The position is expected to end on 2/22/27 when the current paraprofessional returns to work. It reports to the Principal/Head of School and supports teachers with high-quality education for students.

The role involves direct instruction support, material preparation, classroom setup, behavior management, and field-trip supervision, under leadership guidance.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 48 college credits or an Associate’s degree, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Two years of experience working with young children.
• US work authorization prior to first day.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction with children individually, in small groups, and in class.
• Assists with classroom activities and prepares instructional materials.
• Sets up and cleans up classroom spaces.
• Manages behavior using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trips.
• Performs other duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
