Job summary

Boston Public Schools Perkins Elementary in Boston, MA is seeking a Paraprofessional for a temporary vacancy (SY26-27) to support teachers in delivering high-quality education to K-6 students. Responsibilities include assisting instruction, preparing materials, managing behavior, and supervising field trips.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
• Alternative: 48 college credits or an Associate's degree or ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Must have at least two years of experience with young children.
• Must have current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
