Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to temporarily support classroom instruction while the current paraprofessional is on leave. The position runs from 03/03/2026 to 06/03/2026, with termination upon return of the incumbent.

The paraprofessional will assist teachers with direct instruction, prepare instructional materials, manage student behavior, supervise field trips, and help with classroom setup and cleanup, contributing to a high-quality educational environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys assessments.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
