Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional to cover a leave of absence. The anticipated temporary vacancy runs from 09/14/2026 to 01/18/27, with termination on return.

The role reports to the Principal/Head of School and supports a high-quality, innovative education program for students. Responsibilities include direct instruction support, preparing instructional materials, classroom setup/cleanup, behavior management, and field-trip supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 48 college credits or Associate's degree
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children
• Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings
• Provides assistance with classroom activities
• Prepares instructional materials
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches
• Supervises students on field trip activities
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal
