Job summary

The Boston Public Schools are seeking a Paraprofessional to cover a paraprofessional on leave. This temporary vacancy is expected to end on 1/04/2027 when the current paraprofessional returns. The covering paraprofessional will be terminated from the position at that time.

The role reports to the Principal/Head of School and supports teachers in delivering an innovative, high-quality education. Responsibilities include assisting with direct instruction, preparing materials, behavior management,

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
48 college credits or an Associate's Degree, or passing ParaPro or WorkKeys assessment.
Minimum two years experience working with young children.
Current authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
Provides assistance with classroom activities.
Prepares instructional materials.
Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
Supervises students on field trip activities.
Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
