Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional to support SPED Autism Programs at Lee K-8. This temporary vacancy is to cover a leave and is expected to end on or around 05/03/2027, with termination upon the return of the current paraprofessional.

The role reports to the Principal/Head of School and focuses on providing high-quality educational support to students with diverse needs, ensuring a respectful, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 48 College Credits or an Associate’s Degree or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.
• Minimum of two years experience working with young children.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Supports direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings.
• Provides assistance with classroom activities.
• Prepares instructional materials.
• Assists in classroom set up and clean up.
• Manages individual and classroom behavior, using prescribed approaches.
• Supervises students on field trip activities.
• Performs other related duties as requested by Head of School/Principal.
