Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join Hanover Specialty Insurance in Kentucky. The role focuses on underwriting renewal Specialty accounts, applying advanced technical, sales and analytical skills to deliver risk-appropriate solutions and profitable growth.

You will manage an assigned portfolio, collaborate with agencies and internal teams, and drive portfolio performance while aligning with strategic appetites and CAT guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years underwriting experience.
• 3+ years driving agency relationships resulting in profitable renewal business.
• Ability to identify, analyze and solve complex risks and pricing trends.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, solicit and underwrite renewal Specialty accounts to drive profitable growth.
• Apply advanced underwriting concepts including risk selection and loss analysis.
• Leverage pricing components and CAT guidelines in decision making.
• Manage assigned portfolio, monitor metrics and pursue new business opportunities.
• Build strong agency relationships and coordinate with Specialty departments.
