Job summary

Hanover Specialty Insurance is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our growing team. The role emphasizes underwriting renewal Specialty accounts, applying advanced pricing and risk analysis, and managing a portfolio for profitable growth within the Company’s appetite and mix goals.

The candidate will operate with a broad Letter of Authority for underwriting decisions and coordinate across teams to deliver value-added solutions to agents and customers. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years underwriting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of agency relationships driving renewal business.

Responsibilities

• Identify, solicit, and underwrite renewal Specialty accounts.
• Apply advanced underwriting concepts including risk selection and loss analysis.
• Leverage pricing components and rating methodology.
• Manage assigned portfolio to achieve profitability and growth.
• Build strong relationships with agencies and manage key accounts.
