Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Underwriting Specialist for its Specialty General Liability team. The role focuses on high hazard product liability underwriting with the ability to work hybrid or fully remote and occasional travel to key specialty locations.

Ideal candidates will have 5–7+ years of underwriting and agency relationship experience, strong analytical and risk assessment skills, and a collaborative approach across multiple Hanover units to drive profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7+ years Underwriting experience.
• 5-7+ years’ experience driving agency relationships resulting in profitable new and renewal business.
• Proficient in ability to identify, analyze and solve problems and manage multiple projects.
• Mentor for less experienced underwriters or new hires.

Responsibilities

• Identify, solicit, underwriting, and selling new and renewal accounts.
• Apply advanced technical, sales and analytical skills to provide insurance solutions.
• Underwrite decisions within authority and manage an assigned book of business.
• Prepare and analyze information on underwriting decisions, rate, and requirements to drive results.
• Collaborate with Hanover departments to leverage growth opportunities.
• Present to agents and customers and coordinate with Claims and Loss Control.
